calgary int'l film festival

having spent my high school years working in a movie theater, i remember climbing the rickety stairs on thursday nights to change out the movie titles on the marquee. this stuff brings it all back... the old sterling three has since been ripped down and turned into a megachurch. sigh.

love this system

kate + sam

kate and sam are getting married and had two requests for their wedding invites: 1. they have to be non-traditional 2. they need to include some sort of ticket for entrance to play up the ceremony location at a historic theater. so i broke my cardinal rule of "no more wedding invites" and started designing. i gave them two options, both circus-themed (once the tickets are removed on option 2 you see a seal holding up the heart) since the wedding is taking place in baraboo (birthplace of the circus, and kate) at the ringling bros. theater. option one was the winner, illustrated with circus animals and freaks composited from my very handy webster's elementary dictionary found at the thrift store many years ago. more images on my flickr.
